Rear Upright Assemblies

TVR Grantura MK3:

Built around a brand new cast or billet upright, we have re-manufactured the lower pivot rods, inner drive flanges and stub axles and tested them extensively in our TVR Grantura MK3 race cars. The lower pivot rods are based on the original with a few minor changes and have been made from a modern, high strength steel alloy to increase its load capabilities and reduce flexing.

Our original pattern, ultra-strong stub axles are made from a high tensile steel alloy also used in aerospace & F1 applications. We have also made new original pattern splined inner drive flanges – manufactured out of a high strength steel alloy, matched to each stub axle before the parts are put on the shelf.

We use high quality Timken bearings, Nitrile oil seals and fixings to achieve maximum reliability. The original crush tubes have been replaced with our machined spacers and shims which can be tightened fully to increase life span and the reliability of the upright.

TVR Griffith 200/400:

Again using a new upright, we bore and hone all the apertures so that we obtain the correct interference fit with our bearings.
This setup uses a hardened, ultra strong, one-piece stub axle/flange to ensure it can withstand the power of a V8. The lower pivot rod is also uprated.

Shock Absorbers:

We can supply our re-valved single adjustable shock with our race dyno spring set up for each corner.

Brake Shoes:

Brake shoes are re-finished and relined with Mintex race compound to increase braking power and reduce brake fade. We supply brand new drums, brake cylinders, adjusters, springs and bush kits (see diagram).

Backplates:

We refinish and reuse original, good-condition, brake drum backplates; they are blasted and etch primed before an epoxy powder coating is baked on.
