Our Griffith 400 chassis is made in our workshop in Hampshire using our own production jig, from high tensile CDS (Cold Drawn Seamless) tube, unlike the ERW (Electric Reisitance Welded) seamed tube used by the factory in the 1960s. The advantage of using the CDS tube is it has a much higher tensile strength, resulting in a lighter (up to 25% lighter than standard) but significantly stronger chassis. Each chassis tube is CAD-modelled and laser-cut so the fitment on each joint is to an extremely tight tolerance. The Griffith chassis is made up of 64 tubes and almost as many brackets and components, bronze TIG welded for a cleaner and stronger join and powder coated in the colour of your choice (the chassis is also available uncoated). Each chassis is completed with wishbones ready fitted (the jigs for our bespoke wishbones are designed around the bracket positions on the chassis).
